Q: Why choose 1st Glimpse Inc. 3D 4D Ultrasound Sonogram in Brooklyn?

A: We offer relaxing and professional environment that allows everyone to enjoy a bonding experience with you and your baby.  We offer expectant parents the option of private scanning, while invited guest can enjoy luxury seating up to six while watching a 50” plasma TV that allows family and friends to visualize the entire session at all time.  All elective exams are performed by a certified sonographer. Our brand new ultrasound equipment, the Medison Sonoace X8, is one of the top performing 3D/4D imaging systems.
Q: When is it best time for me to get a 3D and 4D Ultrasound?

A: The earliest you could get an elective 3D and 4D Ultrasound is 14 weeks. There is no guaranteed “perfect” time to see your baby, but we recommend waiting until 22 weeks. The latest time is 36 weeks. Full body images are best captured during the second trimester, while the best facial images are obtained after 30 weeks.

Q: How does  1st Glimpse Inc. 3D/4D Ultrasound session differ from my prenatal providers of diagnostic ultrasound exam?

A: During your elective 3D and 4D ultrasound at 1st Glimpse you will spend quality time with your baby looking at colored life-like images using a volumetric analysis that creates 3 dimensional (3D) photos. Added to this is time, the fourth dimension (4D) or the ability to view your baby move as he or she smiles, moves, or yawns. This session is specifically focused on enhancing the bonding process before birth. It is felt that in some women this will change her level of awareness to the life that grows within and promote a change in unhealthy lifestyles to better protect your unborn child.

Q: Will 1st Glimpse Inc. 3D/4D Ultrasound be able to tell if my baby is a boy or a girl?

A: Our staff is certified sonographers that take great pride in being able to accurately identify the gender of your baby if you are at least 16 weeks. There are instances when fetal position may not allow proper visualization to adequately make that determination. When this happens you will be invited back free of charge. With our Medison Sonoace X8 3D/4D ultrasound technology and our exceptionally experienced sonographers we can virtually guarantee you will accurately know the sex of your baby (if desired) and be able to plan accordingly before he/she is born! Our sonographers are also great at keeping secrets if you do not desire to know your baby’s gender.

Q: Does we require you to schedule an appointment?

A: Yes. We require all of our elective 3D/4D ultrasound sessions to be scheduled in advance. Please call (718) 676-1303 or click on pricing to schedule your appointment.

Q: What type of preparation does 1st Glimpse Inc. require for my elective 3D/4D Ultrasound session?

A: While we do not require you to drink 40 ounces of water before your session, it is beneficial to keep yourself well hydrated for pregnancy in general. A reasonably full bladder is beneficial with ultrasound as the beam travels better through fluids than tissue and thus enhances the images we see of your baby in many cases. Also, if you are in your later months the fluid filled bladder will push up the baby’s head up and out of mom’s pelvis so we get better images.

Q: Is my Elective 3D/4D Ultrasound at 1st Glimpse Inc.?

A: Yes! The FDA regulates all ultrasound equipment energies (for obstetrical scanning this is below 100 milliwatts per centimeter squared). Therefore, the manufactures of the equipment are required and have designed their equipment in accordance to these FDA mandated levels. A sonographer who is using this equipment cannot change the intensity of the energy levels emitted by their equipment. Furthermore, the energy levels have not changed with the 3D/4D capabilities; it is only the sophistication of the transducer, and computer software within the ultrasound machine that has changed with the advent of the 3D ultrasound technology. Ultrasound has been used safely in obstetrics for over 35 years, during this time there has never been any documented harmful effects to mother or her baby 3D before or after birth. Currently many physicians require that women whom are experiencing difficulties or are carrying multiple babies undergo ultrasound scans monthly and even weekly throughout much of their 2nd and 3rd trimesters of pregnancy. Many of these exams will often last 30 to 50 minutes or longer with multiple babies. If there were any known risks this would not be common practice. 1st Glimpse Inc. 3D/4d ultrasound sessions last only 20 to 30 minutes at most, and much of this time is spent manipulating the images that have already been captured using software while the ultrasound beam is actually off.

Q: Will my Insurance pay for my elective 3D/4D ultrasound?

A: No. Insurance will only cover medically necessary 3D/4D ultrasound exams or those your prenatal provider has ordered. Your elective session at 1st Glimpse 3D/4D ultrasound can be purchased using cash, debit cards, or credit cards. Sorry we do not accept checks.

Q: Will my elective 3D/4D ultrasound at 1st Glimpse replace my diagnostic ultrasound ordered by my physician?

A: Absolutely NOT! The elective 3D 4D ultrasound received here is strictly for bonding purposes. The session is of limited medical value. Your physician will want a much more inclusive diagnostic exam. They will want a detailed look at internal organs and anatomical structures, measurements for baby’s age and weight, placental location, and diagnosis of any fetal or uterine anomalies.
